Enabling 802.1X Authentication on Uplink Ports of an AP
If your network requires all wired devices to authenticate using or protocol, you must enable 802.1X802.1X is an IEEE standard for port-based network access control designed to enhance 802.11 WLAN security. 802.1X provides an authentication framework that allows a user to be authenticated by a central authority. authentication type on uplink ports of an AP, so that the APs are granted access only after completing the authentication as a valid client.

1. In the app, set the filter to a group that contains at least one AP.

The Interfaces details page is displayed.
5. Click the accordion.
6. Expand the section.
To set based authentication, select in the drop-down list.
If you select protocol, ensure that the is configured on the uplink port by selecting an AP group and navigating to section in the tab.
To set based authentication:
a. Select in the drop-down list.
b. Select in the drop-down list.
7. Select the check-box to validate the server credentials using server certificate. Ensure that the server certificates for validating server credentials are available in the Instant AP database.
