Aruba Central supports the real time tracking of devices. With the help of the RTLSReal-Time Location Systems. RTLS automatically identifies and tracks the location of objects or people in real time, usually within a building or other contained area., the devices can be monitored in real time or through history.
To configure RTLS, complete the following steps:
1. In the app, use the filter to select a group or a device.
2. Under , click .
3. Click the icon. The tabs to configure access points is displayed.
4. Click , and click . The Services page is displayed.
5. Click > .
6. Select to send the RFIDRadio Frequency Identification. RFID uses radio waves to automatically identify and track the information stored on a tag attached to an object. tag information to the Aruba RTLS server.
7. Click and select to send reports on the stations to a third-party server.
8. In the and field, specify the IP address and port number of the RTLS server, to which location reports must be sent.
9. In the field, enter the passphrase required for connecting to the RTLS server.
10. Retype the passphrase in the field.
11. Specify the update interval within the range of 6–60 seconds in the field. The default interval is 30 seconds.
12. If is selected, specify the IP address and port number of the 3rd party server.
13. Select to send reports on the stations that are not associated to any Instant AP.
14. Click .
